Details

Hello everyone!

There has been a change of venue. Belushi's being an "American" bar, I think that's as close to Canadian as we can get, however, everyone bring their flags :-)

P.S. I have issues with my internet access at home so I will not be quick in responding to emails... sorry.

I hope to see as many of you there as possible!

If you bring a Berlin map, I'm sure you'll get lots of advice on your future neighbourhood.

The theme for this meeting is: Where should Isabelle live... I am looking for a flat. I am thinking Prenzlauer Berg or Mitte. Any comments? (You can tell me at the meetup). Also does anyone pay this provision to the real estate agent? 2 months rent!!! this is outrageous!!!

Belushi's is great, theres also the famous Tim's Canadian Cafe on Winterfelderplatz but it's a bit small and quite expensive and very smokey (well...before the ban anyways)

Right, so I changed the location to Belushis. The plan is indeed to have the meetups once a month (at a minimum) and change it up, cultural events, sport events, barbecues, anything fun and social basically...

Yeah, actually if we are also going to be eating, perhaps Belushi's would be a better bet...have not tried the food at the 103 bar...

No, its fine., actually good. Hopefully there will plenty of meet-ups at different locations. I can send you a small list of more down-to-earth restaurants that can also be tried out in the future.

If you don't like the place I chose, we can always find an irish pub or something with that kind of atmosphere?

Not sure if this place has the right atmosphere for a first meet-up (Kastanienalle bars are a bit too showy and uncomfortable) but I will be there.

The bar on Kastanienallee is called 103 Bar... here's a link to it. There's also lots of other suggestions on qype, a website where places are rated and commented on by users... http://www.qype.com/place/1...
